An' I'm nae really sure I want ta be avoidin' her, even if I wasnae horrible at that sort o' thing." If he was smart about it, he'd probably realize that it would be better for the both of them if he did, but he can't help but wonder. It seems like she should be the one making the effort to avoid him, like it isn't fair of him to take the initiative on that sort of thing, as little sense as that makes. Just one more thing to wonder futilely about that he doesn't need.
