Meredith stares dumbly at him, not pulling away but not paying much attention either, still caught on his first statement. "No," she says, "you can't say that. You can't just say that and then call it quits like you — like nothing's happening." It's not as if she thinks he doesn't scared of things, like they don't have plenty to lose.
